What is Cantareel™?
Cantareel is a device that brings the experience of “turning and playing” to guitar playing.
Operation is simple. Just by turning it, you can create a continuous fluctuation of sound that is unlike that of a guitar.
Playing the guitar has gone from “playing” to "manipulating".
Pre-purchase FAQ
What guitars does it fit?
Compatible with common acoustic guitars, classical guitars.
*If the string height at the installation position is less than 9mm or more than 15mm, some modifications may be required for installation.
*In most cases, it can be installed on electric guitars, but please check by yourself whether there is enough space for installation.
Do you need special strings?
Can be played with regular guitar strings.
Steel strings as well as nylon strings are supported.
As a note, we do not recommend coated strings such as Elixir.
The coating prevents friction and reduces the sound.
Do I need to remove it to carry it around?
Only the Cantareel body can be removed, leaving the loops in place.
Place the guitar in the guitar case and carry the Cantareel separately.
To install it again, simply set the Cantareel body on the guitar.
Is rosin absolutely necessary?
Rosin is necessary because the sound is produced by friction caused by the application of it.
If you are allergic to rosin, please use synthetic rosin made of hydro carbon. (Clarity by D'addario)
Will the instrument be damaged?
No modification of the guitar is required to install the Cantareel, and it will not be scratched if carefully installed.
However, depending on the temperature and humidity environment and the type of paint on the guitar, rosin particles may affect the paint.
Be sure to frequently wipe off rosin particles that adhere to the guitar while playing with a cloth.
Won't it ruin the strings?
The Cantareel does not scrape the strings directly with the wheel.
Rather, it is less stressful on the strings than playing with fingernails or picks.
However, rosin on the strings should be removed frequently.
Can I use it with left-handed guitars?
The Cantareel is symmetrically designed so that it can be used on left-handed guitars by reversing the mounting orientation.
