When point harmonics are attached, two adjacent strings can be made to harmonics sound.
For example, attaching point harmonics to the 12th fret position of the two bass strings cancels the droning sound of the bass and gives the overall tone a fresh impression.
Also, if you attach them to the 7th fret position, you can get more complex overtones and expand your range of expression.
Once you get the hang of it, you can switch it on and off while playing.
You can also attach it to the head string when you are not using point harmonics.
